A Beautiful illusion

Victorian farmhouse appearing to be a Georgian country house.

Though it appears to be a classic Georgian country house, Thurnwood was completed less than two years ago.  Owner Jeremy Nieboer is an English lawyer who builds houses for himself and occasionally designs them for other people. Married to horsewoman and artist Elizabeth Parsons, the couple bought a late Victorian farmhouse with ancillary farm buildings and some 20 acres, five years ago.  Nieboer immediately set about planning his idea of the perfect house which incorporates the original building. The couple moved in to their light and spacious new home eighteen months ago and haunted auction houses up and down the country, adding to their collection of antiques which furthers the illusion that the house dates from the late 1700's. Elizabeth studied in the studio of Signora Simi in Florence and when not eventing she continues to paint still-lives, landscapes and equine subjects, as well as sourcing paintings and prints for interior designers and private customers.
