The old Presbytere

Restored old Vicarage in France

The couple's previous house was a glorious Manoir and B&B in a nearby village. Their plan was to move to the south of France for part of the year and find a smaller house outside Le Touquet to stay in touch with the many friends in the area and with easy access to Kent where they lived before moving to France. The old Presbytere (Vicarage) was in a grim state having been used as student accommodation but the owners are seasoned, highly experienced restorers who completed the major task in Summer 2013. Everything that could be saved was from the floors to the staircase. Windows were replaced and a kitchen created. Some of the furniture came from the old house continuing the owners love of French country style mixed with English pieces and fresh cotton fabrics. The steep rear garden is a work in progress while the patio off the kitchen and hall has been planted with roses and climbing shrubs. Upstairs three bedrooms and bathrooms complete the spacious living spaces below. They feel they have the best of both worlds; home in the sunny south and the verdant north with regular visits to London.
