Angela Hartnett

Angela Hartnett house in Spitalfields

Originally built in 1600s by Huguenot weavers, now a listed building. Angela’s brother Michael invested in the house 8 years ago and persuaded Angela to get involved: “he was moving to New York, we had lived together before and he suggested I buy half of this place”. Not only does her brother keep a room here, so does her sister Anne, and a lodger, Salvatore. Angela’s boyfriend and fellow chef Neil Brothwick shares the space too. The kitchen is the heart of the home with its original stone fireplace and cream Rayburn cooker and country style units. Angela oversees the menus at Lime Wood Hotel in the New Forest and its sister property The Pig, Murano her successful Italian restaurant in Mayfair and then this month’s big opening Merchants Tavern, a team effort between herself, Borthwick and Canteen co-founders Dominic Lake and Patrick-Malone.
