1920's Houston USA house configured as an ever changing art gallery

Bill's 1920's Houston house has been carefully configured so that he can display, on a changing basis, what he calls his 'accumulation' rather than a collection of American and Mexican art which includes diverse pieces from early Julian Scnabel to fascinating 'trampwork', largely small items, often of great complexity carved in wood during the 20th century. The house, on one level is set in one of the tree-lined suburbs close to the commercial centre of the city. Originally the house had more windows to create the airflow needed during the sweltering summers but with air conditioning Bill has blocked up several to create additional wall space. He still likes to change the interior for summer and winter in the traditional way of loose cotton slip covers for summer, the rugs rolled and put away to create an cleaner, empty look. This is the story of a modest collector who has spent a lifetime building a collection for the sheer joy of the individual pieces with an accompanying library filled with volumes on the arts. Bill's career was in retail and in retirement he is a valued volunteer at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.
