This Knightsbridge townhouse is a
relatively new home for the celebrated
designer and her husband, Sir Mark
Weinberg � Hempel is known as Lady
Weinberg outside the interiors world � who
also have a place in the Wiltshire countryside.
�We�ve been here about a year and a half.
We inherited it and we�re still finishing
it,� says Hempel.
What does she think makes the different
spaces she�s created around the world
recognisably �her�? �It�s the juxtaposition
of things, I think. It�s to do with height
and balance and how I see it. That means
playing around with huge volumes and
small volumes, having fun with lighting.
It�s light and shadow � and a bit of magic.�
