Kate Pols

Interior designer Kate Pols house in the country

Interior designer Kate Pols bought her house in the country four years ago and has since totally transformed the interior as well as designing and planting a delightful garden. In order to increase the feeling of light and space as well as maximise enjoyment of the garden, Kate boldly knocked out the end wall of the house and built a glass-roofed conservatory type extension which is now a light-filled informal living dining area complete with wood-burning stove. Folding glass doors open on the newly constructed sheltered walled garden beyond. The existing Aga dictated the kitchen layout which incorporates a large island unit and a dresser made to Kate's design by a local craftsman. The house is furnished with the antiques Kate has collected over the years - she was formerly an antiques dealer.
